About Dormva

We didn't set out to build a pillow company.

It started with one bad morning too many — waking up with a stiff neck, rubbing the same spot on my shoulder before I'd even had coffee. I tried the expensive ones. The "orthopedic" ones. The ones with five-star reviews and glossy packaging. Most of them felt fine in the store and did nothing by 3 a.m.

So I started asking a different question: what if the problem isn't how soft a pillow feels, but how well it actually holds your neck while you sleep?

That question led David Hoang and Steave Tu, founders of Dormva, down a rabbit hole of cervical spine research, sleep posture studies, and a lot of late nights testing foam densities and contour shapes on our own necks before we ever considered selling anything.

What we found changed how we thought about pillows.

Most pillows are designed around comfort at the point of purchase — how it looks, how it feels when you press it in a store. Almost none are designed around what happens to your neck during eight hours of actual sleep, when your muscles are supposed to be relaxing instead of compensating for a gap under your neck or a flat spot under your head.

That gap — the space most pillows leave under the natural curve of your neck — became the whole focus of what we built. We call it the C-Zone. It's a small detail most sleepers have never heard of, and it's the reason so many people wake up sore without knowing why.

Why Dormva exists

We built Dormva on one simple belief: a pillow that actually supports your neck shouldn't cost as much as a mattress, and it shouldn't take a leap of faith to try.

That's why every Dormva pillow comes with a 60-night trial. Not because it sounds good on a landing page, but because we know that a pillow needs more than one night to prove itself — and we'd rather let you test it in your own bed than convince you with a paragraph.

Who we are today

Dormva is founded and run by two people, David Hoang and Steave Tu. No big office, no call center script — just the two of us handling everything from product research to sourcing to answering your emails directly at hello@dormva.com.

We started Dormva because we were tired of pillows that looked good in a store and did nothing at 3 a.m. Small as we are right now, that's exactly why nothing goes out the door without us personally standing behind it.

As Dormva grows, that won't change — we're building this to last, not to flip. But right now, when you reach out, you're talking to the people who actually built this, not a department.

Our promise, in plain terms

No vague "clinically proven" claims we can't stand behind. Just a pillow engineered around the way your neck actually rests at night — and a return policy that assumes you deserve to find out for yourself, risk-free.

That's the only thing we're here for.
